This is not so much a complaint against the machine but who I purchased it from. I thought I was buying a new machine but over time I realized it was quit may have been used. I purchased it from Tandy leather in Cincinnati Ohio at least 7 years ago and just couldn't get the tension set.After many years of frustration I searched on line and decided to take it apart in doing so I found the timing would no adjust to specifications with the help of a you tube guide ( U Fix It Garage ) and now the machine works like a champ. For my first machine I am NOW very happy with it. Happy with tippmann not where I bought it.
Generally pleased with this machine and the number of accessories that came with it. Initially, when sewing, the thread would slip out of the secondary tension discs and wrap around the shaft causing some manipulation to get the thread back through the discs. I found this was caused by a misadjustment in the takeup arm as it came from the factory. It had about a half inch of free play instead of the sixteenth that the manual specifies. This was.easily corrected following the instructions and this issue was resolved. Another minor issue was that the green finish of the Mossy Boss had a slight chip in the finish which doesn't affect the operation. Also, I was somewhat surprised at how much noise this machine makes what with all the clanking and clunking going on. Not an issue for me but for someone working in an apartment it might annoy the neighbors.
This is the best sewing machine I’ve ever owned. Never been able to confidently place material and stitch so accurately every time. The engineering and design is perfect. I’ve run the 810 post and a few others. But nothing has the feel and quality of the Tippmann Boss.
When I received the machine at first I was skeptical about the light weight of the machine. After sewing a couple of holsters together I would say hands down one of the best hand stitchers on the market. Easy to set up, very easy to thread, and very easy to sew with. One good thing about the light weight is you could bring the machine to a show or market and repair items for customers or demonstrate how leather items are made. GREAT MACHINE

I have been hand stitching my knife sheaths for many years, but my custom knife business has grown quite big now and I was struggling to keep up with the leather work. It has really changed that part of my business. I'm sure it is going to serve me well for many years as it is so well made. What a quality product!
I have owned my stitcher for about 7 years, used it extensively with great success, and would be lost without it.
